The White Nettle Congregation
The Congrega dell' Ortica Bianca is a project born with a dual purpose. The first is the desire to help nascent or long-standing projects that operate in the various sectors of art, craftsmanship, pastoralism, agriculture and catering, united by the common goal of honoring the Alpine arc and its history, traditions and folklore.
The second is expressed in the concreteness of wanting to recover activities that are being lost and to repopulate the villages that have remained almost deserted following the depopulation that occurred in recent decades, caused by the industrialization of the valley floors and cities that has led young and old to come down to work in the factories, thus abandoning the mountain villages.
This has caused serious damage to many aspects of the social and economic life of these places, with significant repercussions also on the surrounding environment, flora and wildlife.
For our part, we support the projects that become part of this Congregation, with all the means that are granted to us by our purposes, such as training, research of materials and equipment that they need to express themselves and grow, the organization of events aimed at highlighting their products and the project itself that is behind these, the creation of awareness campaigns and fundraising both global and individual for the single member.
To be part of it, it is only required to present the project or the history of the activity, the objectives that are intended to be achieved over time and the purpose for which it was born. A short biography of the people who created it and who collaborate in their realization.
Not least of our purposes for which we created the Congregation is that of wanting to contribute and help young people in particular to find the stability and tranquility of a prosperous and satisfying job, the realization of their dreams, the possibility of realizing their life in the environment that for them is also fundamental to the construction of their future families.
Trying to help them on this difficult journey also means avoiding the discomfort and instability that has dominated the lives of these kids for too long, unfortunately delaying fundamental goals for their happiness and the long-term projects that naturally arise.
Our commitment to this project is our way of thanking the members of the Congregation for their contribution in promoting and protecting the culture and folklore of the Alpine Arc, the love for the mountains and its people.
